As some of you know, we have a housekeeper, Marian, who has worked for many mission families since the 1980s. Incidentally, Eric in 2005, while still single, engaged Marian to work at his place and a mutual colleague arranged for her to work for Sarah on her arrival in 2007. She’s stayed with us under Since Marian’s a lovely, warm, insightful woman who loves the Lord, a real ‘maman’. Unfortunately, she is the main breadwinner in a large family with her adult children that she still supports. There are other family problems with her grandchildren and estranged husband, which have aided in exacerbating her heart condition. She took ill a couple of weeks ago and asked for her daughter Anne to cover for her so that there’s still some money coming into the family. She falls ill often. She is aging and tired out from the work and stresses from the family. Can you pray for her health, that God heals her (she has a recurring swollen foot), that a firm decision can be made with regards to her working life – if she needs to retire or not - and for other members of the family to rally to support her, despite the economic difficulties here.
